Jan found this in Maine last weekend visiting her cousins, the cradle is broken. 

I took the phone apart, never done this on a SC, cut along the lines with a razor to remove the paint so I could turn it. I surprised myself. It came out great. No paint loss from me turning it, but a little on the receiver and the cradle that was already there. The shell is perfect!

It just displays wonderfully and you can't see the missing post in the back Red paint job is superb. It was done by a professional with matching cords.

Thanks...I did't hold out much of a chance on turning the cradle and keeping the paint. One tap of a screwdriver with a hammer from the inside and it just popped off. I am more than happy with it. The razor did its job...Doug
