On vacation on Vancouver island this weekend and found an early pink starlite in an antique store. Got it for $15, because the ringer doesn't work. I'm guessing that's because they don't have ringers! Can't post pictures to the forum from my iPhone (or can I?) but the handset is a bit faded. Original handset cord, but missing the AC cord and has a replacement line cord. Will probably just put white ones on it for now until I find the right ones.

Anyone point me to the right thread for trying to fet the color back in the handset? Or is it doomed to be light pink forever?

There are a lot of "right" threads in this board.

Good reading before you decide on which method you would like to try first.

Read through a fair bit of that now, not sure if I will be trying chemicals or not. Couldn't really find a straight answer if sanding will work or not to get the color back.

John,
Sanding worked on my Dawn Gray AE - 880 Speakerphone. Here's the link-  http://tinyurl.com/8o5xyc7    scroll down to reply 12.   stub

Whoa! That gives me lots of hope. How much sanding did it take to get the color back vs. getting the scratches out after?

John,
It took a while :o , because it was more work  :'( than I wanted too do! Now I'm glad it is done.
           I started wet sanding with 400 , 600 , 1500 , 2000 then buffed with Novus Plastic Polish #2.    stub
