I am replacing the cords on my WE D1/E1 (202) from 1936 and was wondering if the Bell system supplied black cord or brown cord. I want it to look as original as possible.

It is my understanding that all the original WE fabric cords were brown.  This excludes the colored fabric covered coiled cords on the later 302's and Imperials/Continentals.
