Title: Single Slot Pay Phone Help
Post by: Fabius on January 01, 2018, 07:14:17 PM
I wanting to get a WECO/Bell single slot. But I am not knowledgeable about them. How does this one look? Original? What model is it? Thanks.

How original do you want it? Its most likely a post Bell system refurbishment. It does not carry any Western Electric markings on the housing. The lower housing does carry a refurb shop marking.

It is a 1D2, with either depending on the date, a Western Electric or ATT 32B board. The dial is either Elcotel, or a refurbishment of a WE dial, as that is not a WE hookswitch.

However, that faceplate on the upper housing is early. So, its likely this did start out as a WE original, though refurbished.
