While we narrow down the exact date of the video, we have came across two factoids about it. The gentleman driving the Island Tel truck was Barry Dunsford, and the gentleman on the rink ice was Barry Martin.

The video would have been done in the years immediately preceeding the amalgamization of Island Tel, Maritime Tel & Telegraph, NB Tel and NewTel in May 1999 to become Aliant. Until 2003, the four companies continued using their own names, and in April 2003, they all adopted the Aliant name. Following 2003, the Island Tel name was used no more. Then, on March 7 2006 Aliant and Bell Canada Enterprises announced a new partnership to be known as Bell Aliant, creating one of the largest regional telecommunications providers in all of North America.

The video hearkens back to the days where Island Tel was a locally-owned and staffed company and when if you had a service call you would call a local number and a person known to you would perform the service, and this comes through in the video.

They're still around in the 41st century?  ;D
