What The Heck Is This?

My wife spotted this sorta Art Deco phone on Ebay, and liked it.  It looks like the 300 series, but it's wider than anything I've seen.  Its definitely Western Electric, but I have no idea what it is, or when it was made.

Ideas anyone?

That's a Northern Electric Uniphone. It's built by Western Electric's Canadian sister, Northern Electric, and the Uniphone could be considered the 302's Canadian counterpart.

You should find the base on this phone is the same as a 302 set.

Yeah, it's interesting how they used a 302 chassis turned sideways.

Although they use the same basic components and are electrically equivalent, the ones I've seen are mounted on different metalwork...
