.....

Got this metal toy phone from a lady who had it as a young child. She said it was from the late 1950's.

Looks like it could be older.

This was my Childhood phone in the early 50's.
Notice it isn't even as modern as the toy phone, ours had no dial.
You picked up, the operator asked you what number you wanted and she dialed and connected you.
Phone number was 2079R, Oneida, New York.
I searched and finally found all of the components to duplicate the phone desk.

You're looking pretty spiffy there Dan.  ;)

If it wasn't so cool I'd be embarrassed.

Dan you should dress up and put some sunglasses on. Then sit at the phone table and have your picture taken with it. For a before and after picture. LOL

Dan, that photo is WAY cool!  Nice job of putting that together.  The only thing missing from photo #2 is you...........

You know Dan,
A retake would put things in perspective.

I assume short pants would be a critical aspect for the re-take.

Of course! Shorts below the knees, long sleeve shirt with dark collar and the clear bib or whatever that is on his chest.

That does look like a bib. I thinks it helps the "clean" guy image.

Somewhere I have a photo I took after I finished the desk.
In the photo I'm sitting at the desk, like in the original photo, EXCEPT I had taped shoes to my knees. It looks like I'm a dwarf.

They were BIB overalls.
