HEY!!! New Hampshire is in the wrong direction!!!!

I was home all day April 29th and no mail was delivered.  Note the time the notice was supposedly left-6:38PM.  The package was left on the porch the next day without having to be signed for.

I wrote a letter to the Postmaster General on ways how they can improve service.
It got lost.

USPS dropped a package off on my porch Saturday, it only took two days from Illinois.  Probably take another day or two to get to it's correct address, several blocks away.  I took it to the PO and let them deal with it, even though it would have been easier for me to correct their mistake for them.

I was in my front yard weeding and playing with my kid from about 4:30pm to 6pm.  Did not see any sign of the mailman.

WE just had our FIRST Domestic claim with the USPS on a damaged phone. Med Priority box was destroyed. We have had many thousands of boxes sent out and no issues until now.

I don't think the USPS is to blame with you, its your mailman. How is your service when your regular carrier is off?

My self, I love the USPS and think it is the best deal out there for shipping phones. Just my humble opinion....DOug

TNT is just the same in the UK, "overnight delivery" took 8 days and several phone calls to the local depot and their so called "customer service" phone number.

Phantom deliveries, broken promises, I tell anyone I buy off the bay I will not accept TNT as their courier delivery.
"now this should take five minutes, where's me screwdriver went now..?"

If you need a smile, or even a laugh this morning, check this out.

I recently bought 2 flashlights, the same identical flashlights, 2 days apart from the same seller in Hong Kong.

They both arrived in Chicago yesterday but then look what the august USPS decided to do with each package, both equipped with the same ship to address which would through the main Milwaukee, Wisconsin post office in Oak Creek, about 50 miles north of Chicago.

Milwaukee is about an hour and a half (90 miles) drive north of Chicago. Grand Rapids Michigan is about 3 hours and 180 miles to the north east from Chicago on the other side of Lake Michigan from Milwaukee, about 130 miles away as the crow flies.

Defies logic, doesn't it?   ???  At least, I'll get one of them tomorrow.

The logic continues to escape me, but now I understand why the USPS is loosing money . . .

Bought an item from a China seller on eBay on July 15th. Their shipping info said "Estimated Delivery: Fri. Jul. 25 - Fri. Aug. 8" which was acceptable to me.

While checking its tracking on Friday, noticed that it had arrived in Chicago on Thursday, July 24th, a mere 101 miles from Waukesha, about a 2 hour drive on average. So, I'm thinking, a day to Oak Creek, a day to Waukesha and delivery on Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Even on Saturday if I got lucky.

Well, checked the tracking today and discovered that the USPS, in all its wisdom, sent the package to DETROIT, a mere 285 miles or about 4 hours from Chicago. requiring a 390 mile, or 6 hour by land, shipment from Detroit to Waukesha. It departed Detroit today, July 27th, but to where? Time, and tracking, will tell.

As in my post above, of two orders, one went from Chicago to Oak Creek to Waukesha, the other went from Chicago to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Coldwater, Michigan to Waukesha.

Did the seller screw up the shipping label from eBay? I doubt it. My shipping address hasn't been changed on eBay since first registering. So, why the screw up, again, in Chicago? Inquiring minds want to know, I'm sure . . .

That's nothing, a friend of mine who lives in Texas has bought things that were within the same state a few hours from him, and yet the USPS seems to enjoy sending them on a round trip to New York and back, haven't the USPS heard of the phrase "Keep it local"?  ::)

Was the ZIP code printed clearly on the label?  I have had packages go for long trips because of an incorrect or unclear ZIP code.  It is also possible that a USPS employee mis-keyed the ZIP code.  Also, perhaps it is possible that the item was routed through Detroit because the Customs processing center in Chicago was too busy to handle it.

You may be right Larry, in your last observation. The "ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) " facility sent it to Detroit, where it was processed, sent to Oak Creek and then to Waukesha for delivery. Anyone know what "ISC" stands for in postal terms? I found it to be "International Service Center." Would think they would clear it and send it to the next closest post office, in this case, in Oak Creek, not Detroit. Might be something different.

The item did arrive today in fine condition. Based on tracking dates, they drove it to Oak Creek. The padded envelope had a shipping label on both sides of the package, both with correct information and tracking bar codes. Photos below.

Case closed, but the mystery remains . . .  8)
