Can someone tell me why this went for such a high price?  $1025.00  I know the long boxes go for more, but I can't see anything special about this one.  Just trying to understand the differences of these boxes.  Lately these phones have been selling in the $500 range - complete and nice looking.  This price seems way out of line.

All I can say is that wood and candlestick phone prices are a little crazy lately.

Exhibit A: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300957506790 A Western Electric *250* transmitter and well-marked 2 piece cup/lug bid up to $140.  It's a nice one, I would pay $40 for it.

Maybe I should take some parts off of my strowger and put it on Ebay.

PROS:
It has the push button complete with contact set!

CONS:
Entire transmitter assembly is missing.
Bells are missing.

Something fishy going on I would think. Looks like the run of the mill Strowger 11 Digit Wallphone to me ....less some critical pieces!

2 high bidders fighting it out, otherwise it would have gone for around $500. Both of the high bidders are buying mostly non-phone items.

Here's another one.  $82 for a Western Electric transmitter cup.
