Title: Repro Bell System clock revamped
Post by: ..... on January 24, 2018, 01:42:40 PM
I decided to redo my fake Bell System porcelain hubcap clock.

It's now in a metal frame behind glass. :) I'm throwing around the idea of painting the frame blue to match the sign.

Now the question is, where do I hang it?

Very Cool! Great idea! I think painting the frame blue would be perfect.

Thanks Harry,

I might even paint the clock hands blue.

Just my opinion but I'd leave the frame and hands black.

Too much blue, not quite matching blue or all blue, won't give the contrast needed to make the hubcap stand out. I think the rule of thumb in colors and font type at/on any one item/article is 3. More than 3 is overwhelming and only 1 is bland, nothing distinguishes itself on the item/article.

That might even go to housing where "Painted Lady" Victorian homes are always 3 color. Might be the rule of thumb origin.
