I bought a space Saver in Indiana over the weekend.  Its a bit different from others.  The handset is labeled Western F1, but the body does not look like your normal space savor.  Has anyone seen anything like this?  I took a few pictures of it.  Its made of all METAL and heavy.  I having a hard time finding another one like it.  Here are the pictures....

Not  A Western Electric but a Stromberg Carlson with a WE dial and WE handset
The Dial mountings will interchange but the SC is domed in back

I did open it up...the inside read Stromberg Carlson.  Its much bigger than your normal  WE Space Saver.

To add further....

Other than the handset this is most likely how it came from the factory.

At various times Stromberg outsourced components such as the dial mounts (used on "G" mounts) and the switchook assembly (used on "C" mounts) from Western Electric.

In some cases they sourced the entire spacesaver from Western Electric and added their own handsets and perhaps dials. During certain periods it would be more cost effective than running an entire assembly-line for what would be a limited market from the small independents that comprised the bulk of their core customers.
