Title: Japanese Version of the Princess Phone
Post by: mienaichizu on December 09, 2008, 06:02:56 PM
As an early Christmas present, my girlfriend gave me this phone. A Japanese version of the Princess phone. Manufactured by NEC in 1970. Has an internal ringer and works well, but the ringer is not working. I tested the ringer assembly by connecting it to other phones it works. It seems that the ringer network has the problem. The phone is also discolored. This used to be a white one and turned yellowish or ivory. I think this phone and my early post about the Japanese phone were manufactured by the same maker. Both got almost an identical handset holes. What do you think guys??

Pretty spiffy.  It's sad that it got so discolored, guess a lot of phones got left in sunlight over the years.  What's inside it?  A picture of the guts would be nice to see.

Yes show us the guts! :D  Then we can see how similar it is to your other NEC phone.  Yes the color on both phones is...interesting.  Is the fading or discoloration different where light didn't hit on the inside?
