It could have something to do with Doug's using Skin-So-Soft bath oil on Bakelite.  ;)

But I think maybe he meant Christian was slick, and I would second that. A 1949 G1 handset--never mind the rest of that haul--for $30 is a steal. Christian is a very sharp young man.
