Sign guys, how about some pics of your phone room and how the signs are displayed. I am not talking about a snapshot of a favorite sign, the room you have them displayed in. I have only seen Ell's (signguy) display of signs which is top notch. Anyone else?
I have shown you mine, show me yours 8)....Doug

Jim.....how could I forget this wonderful house!!! Absolutely STunning!!!....Doug
A whole building just for your pay phones & related stuff.
Incredible!
Hi Guys,
I've been collecting since late 2012 when I was forced to retire due to disability. First wood, then candlesticks and now porcelain for the last year. I did fall off the wagon recently and purchased a 1919 fire telegraph call box. Hmm no payphones!
Regards,
Bob Farber
Guys,
Here is one more photo of my modest collection.

Bob,
What kind of plants do you suppose they grew in that department?? (Trying to come up with a good telephone/botanical pun, but having no luck!)...
Oh, wait...
Maybe that is where they researched leaf switches...maybe trunk lines...or branch circuits!
Very nice collection! Well done!
Nick
I see plenty of space for more phones!!!
Nicely done, rfkimba. Nice phones well displayed!

Really nice Chuck.....outstanding condition on these beauties. I do love the NET hubcap. This still eludes me after all these years....beautiful.....Doug
Thanks Doug. If you recognize the connections public telephone sign, it is because it is the one I got from you.

At the top of my wish list of telephone signs is that Bell Telephone of Nevada 11x11. Yours is only the 2nd one I have ever seen.
Chuck....Wow! Fantastic display. It is breath taking. I keep going back over the pictures. Wow!....Doug
Thanks Doug
Chuck - What an awesome set of signage!! You have a museum there - I like the displays as they allow one to compare similar items side-by-side. I have a couple questions on the hubcaps:
1) How did you mount those? I see the mounting holes all look empty, or am I missing something?
2) What is the Citizen's Telephone Company?
Thanks for posting those!
Paul
I like how you display the flange signs! Those So. Cal/Pac Bell "TELEPHONE" signs are interesting. I have a '08 version of each. I have never seen another '08 version of the Pac. Bell one. I think the use of "TELEPHONE" alone on a sign is uncommon, and it seems like it was used mostly on the West Coast.
Amazing collection Chuck.
fabius: The Nevada sign is a fairly recent acquisition, courtesy of Ell Bennett.
RotarDad: I use Blu-Tack, a picture adhesive. A couple of strips near the edge. It works most of the time. Sometimes a particular sign will keep falling off the wall. I don't know why. Then I will add a couple of brass wood screws to help hold it up. I haven't done any research on the history of Citizens Telephone Company.
Chuck
Citizens Telephone was in a section of Northern Kentucky. It was later aquired by Cinncinnati & Suburban.
