I was wondering if anyone has used the acetate number stickers sold at a few of the places on the web like oldphone works and I think phoneco . These are the stickers that you put over old porcelain number ring .

Must one totally remove the old number ring to install it or only remove the fingerwheel? As I recall getting the old number ring out was sometimes a little risky.

Thanks

for best results, remove the worn ring and clean it well.Check the alignment before sticking it down.Warning the old numbers might bleed through.I put these on hundreds of dials at COT. Dont dial with objects, the sticker will wear

I suppose the real trick is getting it aligned.

I think I have no old numbers to bleed through. They are almost completely gone.

I have used a couple of these because most of the numbers were very worn. After cleaning the plate with brush & soap I wiped it down with alcohol and made pencil marks for alignment purposes. Very satisfied with the outcome.
