500 with Volume Control

I got  this find off ebay not long ago.
WE 500 in white with an ATT voll. control in the receiver.
Only paid 9.99 plus shipping on ebay.
It's in excellent shape, and, I'm thrilled to have it.
It works great, and, has a build date of 9-61.
I'll get the link to auction as soon as possible.
I'm using this phone, and, the extra amplification works great.
I'm a happy camper!!

Fingers crossed the amplifier in your phone's handset doesn't do what my Cortelco's handset amp does and pick up and play back (A)DSL signals, that's quite annoying...

Don't suppose you could get some pictures of the amp. circuitry could you? I want to see what's different between yours and my Cortelco one, see if I can't fix mine so I don't have to buy a new plain non-amp. handset for the 2554...

I put an amplified G15 handset on my mom's old WE 2554 for her a couple of years ago and she's very happy with it.  Her 2554 was installed in 77'.

Glad you like your new phone Bill.  Any pics?

Ah well, I'm guessing the handle doesn't come apart like the cortelco's does (as seen in my thread on the problems with it)? There's still plenty for me to learn about when it comes to US phones...
