New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Just listed in a 10 day auction with a reserve starting at $64.99 is an AE 2 (not as nice as AE_Collectors's icon) in what seems to be very good condition from the pictures provided. Haven't seen one of these come up on eBay ever so the question as to how high it will go is an unknown, as is the reserve. So who best knows what this phone will sell for when the auction ends or what the high bid will be if the reserve is not met?

If the reserve is met at any point right up to the auction end, this special contest will be converted over to a real auction contest with a winner. If the reserve is not met, the normal special auction contest rules will apply. So, who thinks they know what this will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE:  We will use a $5 gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $5 away from prior guesses for this contest. All guesses, original and a single allowed revised guess if needed, must be submitted at least 24 hours before the auction ends.

The seller listed it as an "Vintage Antique Monophone Automatic Electric Co. AE2 Telephone" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " and with the auction listing description saying "Vintage Antique Monophone Automatic Electric Co. AE2 Telephone -- In great condition. Cord shows wear which last two pictures reflect. Sold as an antique/collectible only -- This has not been refurbished at all. -- After research, I believe this is an AE2 model. Buy as is. If you need any more pictures or more information for you to make your own judgment if this is AE2, please let me know. -- Dates back to the 1920s. Desk set version. Bakelite"

The phone has been relisted starting at $64.99 in a 10 day auction with a reserve. As such, the contest will be started here and if the reserve is met, the special contest will be moved over to the regular contest area with all regular contest rules applicable at that point (guesses must be in 24 hours before auction end time and one revised guess is allowed).

I've never seen one on eBay so this should be a fun guessing game.

This phone may not reach the reserve, if it does, until the last few seconds of the auction. If the reserve is met, period, this will be converted to an auction contest that counts.

Right now there are 4 bidders placing 4 bids with 21 watchers (half probably forum members  ;) ). As such, the normal contest rule of get your guess in at least 24 hours before the auction ends is in effect.
