Just what's IN the user's manual? 

Step 1:  Lift handset
Step 2:  Push buttons
Step 3:  Speak

No no, there is way more than that in the user manual for this 1500.

First it explains how to program your phone by updating your roaming capabilities.

Then it prompts you to enter your password and user ID number, followed by steps to reprogram them so that they are secure.

Then it explains how to use the multi-feature user set with customizable interface and ....

You certainly scored a sweet 1500, I'm impressed.  What's the date of birth on it?
DOB is 8-66.  I'll scan the manual and post it.  What's different about this one is it has a weird clip inside the face plate that holds the number card in.  Not the snap in clear cover like they had in the 70s and 80s.
