I recently posted about my red 500.  Now I have this black 500 (network dated 3-56, base dated ?-5?).  The housing is dated C-70.  The handset is a G1, and it's obviously been painted.  I went to clean it, and the paint started to come off.  I'm just curious about how common it is for a plastic-bodied 500 to have an older G1 handset and an older network.  You can see where the paint wore off on the handset.  Oh, and after polishing both the housing and handset...how common was it for the housing and handset to not match?

I need a ringer for this one, if anybody has one.

I had a black one with a black factory painted white shell. The shell was soft tenite, so this was an unusual phone in that the more common black was made from the less common white. I gave it to a friend when I found a true white one. They are more common than you think.
