I need some help. I just got a great Kellogg 1000 Metal Red bar. Works perfect and paint is amazing. Can't get it to ring. Is this a frequency ringer. if not, How do I bridge it to ring. L1 or L2 to R1 R2 or R3. Nothing seems to work....thanks....Doug

The ringer type is usually stamped in ink on the yoke with its designation, e.g. HC-4 and the frequency, and on the back of the mounting bracket may be an impedance code.   It does look like a frequency ringer, and if it's the same phone with the talk-to-speak switch, it probably is a party line phone.

The terminal connections should be ok.  There is a 1947 service booklet on how to set the metal connector bridges to select the right condenser and the ringing method (metallic, etc...).  Yours is set for divided ringing.  Slide the link from connecting to the grounded position to the L2 position for bridged ringing, if that's what you want.
