I'm assuming it's a 5302, but whats up with that dial?

Ken...it's a 5302. The fingerwheel has plastic inserts that were sold aftermarket. Otherwise it is a normal dial with out the retainer ring and dial card.  ...Doug

I figured they must be aftermarket, but what would the purpose be? I can't fit my finger in the holes as it is, let alone with plastic inserts.
