New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed yesterday in a 7 day auction with no reserve is this (soft plastic?) pink mushroom (could be a 5/59 date matching phone) which seems to be complete except for the missing light cap. It was listed at $65.00 plus $15.50 for shipping and has received one bid. I'm sure that will change. We've seen other mushrooms in various conditions in forum contests. This is another one but one whose value will be affected by the fading and the missing cap. So, once again the question is, who knows best what this phone will sell for when the bidding ends?

The seller listed it as an "VTG Western Electric Mushroom Rotary Dial Telephone Phone LIGHTED 1958 PINK" with the item condition as "Used" and "Please see photos for description" with the auction listing description as "You are bidding on a Used Vintage Western Electric Lighted Phone . This phone is in very clean condition. Please see all photos attached. It is missing the small "mushroom" lamp that covers the bulb. It has a volume ring control on the underneath. The dial light is controlled by a two position switch mounted on the lower left of the phone front. It can be turned on as a dim night light and will get brighter when the receiver is lifted. This phone has not been tested."

NOTE: we will use a 3% gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, guess gaps of 6+% can be split. I'll help with these as the auction goes forward and guesses are entered.

It's another chance to move up a rung or to get onto the CRPF -> Contest Standings <- list,

. . . for as twocvbloke said,   ---> "You gotta be in it to win it !!!" ;D "
