Blues to me is the only real music, which inspires all the rest. Blues music hits deep inside.
Howling Wolf is just one amongst many, many great blues artists.

  I have to agree with Dan/Panther. Even several rock bands have roots in blues. Black Sabbath, AC/DC (the earlier stuff w/ Bon Scott), Jakyl, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zepplin, Jimmi Hendrix to name a few. Speaking of these bands, I'll bet people like Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, B.B. King ect... never thought they'd have been the inspiration for many of these kinds of bands. I think it only goes to show how great the blues can be.

  An old style blues band that I've recently gotten interested in is the Floyd Lee Band.
