Can anyone give a location and approx age for this unusual British Dial Card?
'Medical 333 or 555'
'Fire and Emergency 222'
ETA: my own research is pointing to nationwide use of these numbers - found an 01 London dial card with the same emergency numbers. So am guessing this was pre 999, or possibly an internal system.
Can anyone confirm this or give a poss date range?
Thanks for any help.
I believe those emergency numbers would have been for a government office of some kind. I know that '2222' is used as an emergency number by at least one government department currently. Also the phone number without an exchange name or code suggests a card from an internal phone system.
:)
Edited to add - a quick Google of ''emergency 2222' shows it's also used in hospitals across Europe as an internal emergency number.
