Found this Mint In Box October 1989 GTE Communication Systems 120B Coin Phone at the Long Beach Flea Market
Small in size ... Smart in Style ... and it has a lighted dial.

Hi RickGTE. I was just thinking that I hadn't seen you on here lately. Nice find for your collection.

Is it clearly marked 1989 somewhere? If so, is it on the lower housing? I would think that they had moved on from the original small button touchpads by 1989 but maybe not until into the 1990's.

I believe I have 120B's back to 1976 but they quite likely may have started life as a 120A rather than a 120B. The original TC 120A's had full size plastic button touchpads and plastic hookswitch levers. This turned out to be a lot of fun for kids with BIC lighters so they changed the touchpads to these small metal buttons and the hookswitch lever to metal.
