$175.00  Please.  Is that a aftermarket modular plug?  I'd not seen one like it.

Yes, aftermarket modular plug attaches to original line cord. I had a few at one time.

This is my first guess since being a member of this group. First I want to thank everyone that has given information that i have obtained off the internet to repair many of the telephones I have collected. My guess is $285.00. Thank you everyone again for your help.

That is a "wire plug" designed for solid copper wire. Seller may have "improved" a 100% original phone by cutting off the spade tips.

and probably added line cord static as well.

Slightly off topic note for new collectors that want to make a hardwire set modular:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DON'T make irreversible changes to a cord. It is pointless. and ruins a good cord. DON"T notch the housing for a mod. jack either.

A line cord can be terminated on a "loose" baseboard jack which gives you a means to connected it with a standard mod cord to a wall outlet.

Another route is to swap the hardwire cord with  a hardwire/mod cord. You have a modular line cord with spade ends to that you can hardwire to the set.

If unsure, ask this forum about your options before making irreversible changes to a nice phone.

Jim S.
