Okay; how far is it from Mendocino, California to Milano, Italy?

5880 miles.  I used this website to get the distance:  http://tinyurl.com/ns3r6r

Cool.  Using that distance calculator we can find out which of our phones were manufactured the furthest distance from our homes, though I couldn't get the calculator to work for Hengelo, Holland for the Heemafs.

That particular website is not the friendliest to navigate and use.  I can't find the distance calculator from their home page, I went to it directly after googling "Seattle to Tokyo distance.  http://www.findlocalweather.com/how_far_is_it/wa/seattle.html, then I had to look up the code they use for Tokyo.  There are other distance calculators online.
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.

Hmm, it's 257 miles from my town to yours Hobiesport.  As the crow flies I'm guessing.

A little ago, I finished taking some pictures of an older, yet similar North 541 phone. There are lots of under the hood pictures showing the components supplied by Western Electric and how they mix and play with those from North Electric.

I really like this model because it features a ringer with a spiral spring to hold the clapper in place. A very similar spring is inside the dial.

Hope you guys enjoy it:

Jorge, once again a great presentation of your work.  That is a very elegant telephone.  You must be proud to display not one but two of those North Electric 541's.  Great job. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Seriously sweet phone!  It's a nice style as well, a blend of the 500 and older designs, and I've never seen the inner works of one before so that was a treat.  Nice to see Bingster's getting props as well for that cord stay.  Lots of great folks on this forum.

Another model goes on my "want" list.  Very nice, Jorge.  8)

Check this out! 20% off this month and they ship overseas:

Much as I would like one, I just can't afford it at the moment.  Maybe another time.  It's a pity that their 20% off offer came at just the wrong time.
