Aqua Blue 554 Frankenphone

This was a project phone of mine for a while.  I bought a Northern Electric color change set off of eBay and discovered to my dismay that the number plate only fit a particular NE dial that I can't seem to get ahold of.  In an effort to consolidate some of my white elephants I slapped the set on an old WECo 554 that whose housing had been stickerfied.  I dug up an old "sea foam green" 500 and sanded and polished the dial plate back to a semblence of the original color.  Have a look:









You can still see a hint of fading at the edge of the GHI and JKL, but iy'll have to do for now.  Not bad for a Frankenphone.

I'll say it looks good, too.  I'd have never guessed sea foam green from anything about that phone.  :o
