This is an idea I have used for a number of years to keep track of all of my payphone keys. One of the main problems people have who own multiple payphones is finding their keys.

QuoteDuh, I put them in a safe place, but can't remember where that was!

My solution? I have a Brinks key safe moount3ed in the office/workshop which stores all my payphone keys. It wasn't something I went out to buy - Linda won in in a contest some years ago, and we had it sitting un-used. It is perfect, as it has 15 key rings mounted on tabs inside, and it keeps all the phone keys safe and makes them easy to find. Even if one had to purchase one, they are relatively inexpensive, as compared to the cost of having to replace locks because you misplaced the keys!

Worth giving a try!

.....

I just zip tie mine to the handset cord. That way if I need them, I just cut the zip tie.  ;)

Yes, but the problem is too many people handling the phones in a Museum - they keys wouldn't stay zip tied to the cords for long. Safer to keep them out of harm's way. It took only  couple of minutes to find the keys for my 1D2...
