Strange looking telephone

Anita and I got out of town for a few days.  The hotel were we stayed had a strange looking telephone.  I didn't work, instead of a dial tone I got water in my ear.

Here I am listening for a dial tone.  Funny thing is, this hotel had many antiques for decor (Victrola, old radios) but not one vintage phone!

At least you retrieved the Transmitter; I saw it in the caddy, in the initial pic!
