This is a "trick" I found useful for replacing the round rubber feet that were used on AE80D sets using the WA-1154 or similar board type network that have a cast rivet for the feet that also acted as mounts for the dial tripod bracket, or cord clamps.

The AE feet are very similar to feet used on ITT, WE, and SC sets; they have a tendency to dry out, and crumble.  You can take 500 disc style feet that can be modified to fit over the foot rivet for the AE feet. as follows. This eliminates the sometimes necessary step of removing the foot rivet.  THIS PROCEDURE SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR TRIANGULAR FEET EQUIPPED AE80 SETS.

1. Remove the old foot by cutting it away with a hobby or X-Acto knife, be sure to get around the rivet post as well.
2. Take a 500 style rubber disc foot, and in the inner portion of it {where the rivet goes}, make 2 to 4 cuts so the inner portion can be
    stretched/flexed when installing it.
3. Place it on top of the rivet and begin pressing the inner portion down over the rivet on one side, then on the next side. Work the
edges so they will go under the rivet. Do this all the way around it.
4. Adjust the foot fit by turning it slightly; the foot's rubber will adjust as it is flexible and resilient.
5. Repeat for the other 3 feet, if needed.

NOTE: The new feet may be slightly larger, but will fit in the same area as the old foot.
