Looks like we will go to Boston next October any hints for us about what to do?

Some relatives has invited us to a wedding October 12, and we plan to use the hole week in Boston. Any hints for what I could do related to my interests of telephones, and Coleman stoves and lamps?  My wife are more interested in handcrafts.  My father in law are interested in woodwork, so if he are in shape he will come too together with other Norwegian relatives.

A OK not to expensive hotel?
