Metal finger wheels made of? I have an alluminum were they made of steel and brass also? I have only found 1 steel are those more uncommon?

Steel, brass and aluminum from Western Electric.  I don't have an awful lot of phones, but my little collection contains roughly equal numbers of each.

I have a few from the 70s which were made of a white metal alloy coated with either a matte black or fake brass finish.
