Howdy!

The insulation on handset cord on my Leich 901-911 is crumbling and the insulation for the individual wires in the handset cord are also crumbling and I need to address that before I can restore the phone. The problem I'm having is that I can't for the life of me, remove the spitcup from the handset. Is there a trick to this or is it that I'm not applying enough elbow grease?

Thanks!
Andy

Andy,
The outer ring should just unscrew and release everything.
Sounds like it's rather stuck.

That's what I had figured. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something special with how it was attached.

Thanks!

When I have endcaps that firmly refuse to move I spray a little WD40 into the rim, leave it to work its way in for a few mins and then gently use a strap wrench.

Got any photos you can add so we can see your project?  :)

Put it in the freezer a hour then run it under hot water. I have plenty of those handsets it you need another one.
