I saw this sign in front of a closed Pizza Hut in South Bend Indiana. Ameritech is the 'Baby Bell" formed from Indiana Bell, Illinois Bell, Michigan Bell and Ohio Bell. I believe this is a second generation sign. The first generation was issued right after divestiture.  It said: Indiana Bell with Bell logo and at the bottom An Ameritech Company. This allowed for the public to make the connection between Ameritech and it's earlier company and also to the Bell System by using the Bell logo. 2nd generation Baby Bell signs dropped Indiana Bell but kept the Bell logo.

So, are you climbing the pole in daylight or the dark of night?

I am tempted. I think its held in place by bolts thru the flange and into female clamps on the two metal bands that are around the pole.

How's the pole attached to its concrete foundation? Might be easier to split those nuts and take the whole thing . . .    ::)

Wear a hard hat and safety vest and remove it during the day.

Been there and done that. No safety vests but we did put out cones. About 1985.

I like the "official" vehicle sticker .
Did you replace the signs with modern signs?

Most of the signs came off of empty buildings. We did replace the sign with a generic PHONe & handset sign when there was an active business.

All you need is the right hardhat, T shirt w/ insignia, reflective vest, and clipboard.  Oh, and a large set of ...

Hmm, that body platform seems to be similar to what they called the J-Platform (the one the cavalier was based on), as the side profile looks very similar to what we over here know as the Mk.II Vauxhall Cavalier... :)

Nah, there was a North American Chevy Cavalier that used the same J-body as the Vauxhall Cavalier & Opel Ascona, just dressed up differently & equipped with different engines, the Citation uses the X-body platform it seems... :)
