What is it?

What kind of a phone is this? Is that a switch on front bottom?

That is an Ericsson-Rijen Dutch PTT phone, probably imported into the USA by Tandy Corp for sale in Radio Shack in the 1970s.  The thing on the front is a frame for holding a number card.  These phones appear very frequently and are not worth much ($5-$20).

Yes, it's a Dutch PTT Type 1951 telephone.

In case the ringer doesn't work: there needs to be a strap between terminals 9 & 10 inside the phone.
