Interesting find - BCH Test Unit

Thought I'd share this interesting find (very kindly bought for me as a gift).
:)

Same model as this one, will add a pic of my actual unit as soon as it arrives.

"bt line tester 422a designed to test telephone lines by dividing the line and the exchange line circuit thus giving total control designed to work to the exchange neg 50v supply or 240v ac mains mf tones are detected by the built in detector and indicated on a led display dial speed and ratio tests can be carried out"

I think the jacks are likely to be GPO B gauge and may be damaged if you insert an A gauge audio plug.

Just gotta try and find a manual now, but if not, I'll work it out...

The 431A BT style phone sockets at the top right date it from 1981 ...

I believe (but I could be wrong) my new toy dates from the mid nineties. I'll see what I can find out. They did another (earlier version I think) without the 'monitor' socket.

It will do very nicely for me to play around with. I have lots of dials...    ;D
