I soak them in Oxyclean and water, then hang it up to dry.... Works great!

Make sure they dry well before re-installing them in the phone.

Dave
thankyou. i will hang up and make sure i visually inspect to make sure it is dry.usually i do all cleaning before any other work commences, so the cord would not be installed right away anyway. ;)

After its soak, run a wet washcloth along it - you may have to recoil parts by hand after doing this, but that will get the last grunge, mold, etc. off. Done likely around 75 cords that way.

Dave
i will definitly do that, because this cord is really going to need it. :)

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but when using OxyClean, what do you do with the spade tips? Tape them off, hang outside the soaking container, or let them be immersed?  Same question for modular coiled handset cords.

Thanks!

I let the spades & modular plugs soak right along with the cords. Never hsf a problem.
