I've had this on my mind for a while. I heard that the 1959 models were almost the same but the casing has no pick up handel or indentation. Does anyone own one? Have a picture you could share. And why have I never seen one on eBay, too rare, were destroyed, etc..?

Thanks

Ben

I have several in my collection and don't recall any that don't have the grip.  Even the field trial sets had a ridge for picking them up.

There were several knock-off sets that omitted them.  Perhaps the story started after seeing one of those (Second Photo).

Thanks Paul, know where I could get one?

Since I'm sure I have more than one, make me an offer I can't refuse!   ;)

Send an email with your preferences in color and condition and I'll see what I can find.
