To those of you who have painted metal phones

I stripped my 202 phone today and put a primer on it.
The primers I found around here, say not to use on galvanized metal, so, I hope that it will work.
My questions are:
1)Do you guys put on the glossy coat after the primer dries, or do you buff out the primer a bit. Mine is o.k., but not smooth as glass.

2) How many glossy coats do you use?

3) Also, do you wait a while before baking it, or do you immediately bake after buffing out the last glossy coat?

Thanks,

O.K., I've finally found what I lost when my browser hung up.
I'll answer my questions:
1) I should sand after primer--though I don't have wet sand paper, I'll try steel wool.
2) 2-3 coats
3) bake after paint dries.
That is what Dan/Panther writes in the Telephone Troubleshooting and Repair category.
Thank you.

Wet sand paper is readily available at pretty much any auto parts store.  It's not too expensive.  I would think you want at least 1,000 or 2,000 grit.  I have never painted one of those phones so I'm anxious to see how yours turns out.

Thanks...there's a store near where I'll be tomorrow. I appreciate the info.
I've already decided that if it doesn't work, I'll have to do it again. I'm considering this the experiment phone.
