I could be wrong ;D, but this looks to me like a mold/form for an 'Antwerp' style phone. Anyone got any idea what it is?

Made of aluminium. The seller has it listed as a toy, maybe it is....

But if it is a mold, I almost wish I could do something with it as I keep seeing it. It's priced at around £31.

Could it be that the paint is flaking off?

I would guess a toy or mock-up.  It would have had a fake dial assembly either way.  I would also guess pot metal, instead of more expensive aluminum.  Pot metal would have a similar gray look with oxidation.

It won't be a mold as that would have separate parts for body, cradle, handset etc.
I would go for it being a toy.

Agree. It looks like paint to me too, who knows what these things go through as the years pass.

As it's full size and usually toys are smaller scale for kids, it threw me. But whatever it is I will go with it def not being a mold then.

Thanks all for replying. Another curiosity is ticked off the list....   :)
