There are now 1981 and 1983 PNI catalogs in the TCI Library:

https://www.telephonecollectors.info/index.php/search?q=pni+catalog

Hopefully more will be added in the future.

There have been some forum PNI discussions. Search for "paul nelson"

Following are several posts of photos harvested over many years. (Some of the early ones are relatively low resolution.)

I'm sure there are many more to be added!

Dr. Pepper can phones came in rotary, touch tone and an interesting "hot line" model with autodialer set to dial 800-527-2904.

The autodialer model came with no dial, and a top looking like a pop-top can top. Some were marked hot line.

Batch dates on some found hot line sets are 9/30/81 and 3/4/82.

For a discussion of SUnset2's set, see http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=28039.0
