I have just bought an antique french style rotary phone

Beautiful and intricate

It hooks up to my phone line and it rings and I can pick up calls with it

The only this is that I can not dial a number and call someone

My mom had one as a kid and she says it doesn't sound right when I dial the numbers

What do you think is wrong with it? How do I fix it?

Hi Briele and welcome to our community. The term "French Phone" is not the name of a certain model phone, it is used for any phone with the curved mouthpiece on the handset. There are many possibilities, can you post some pictures?
