Very early AE80 in black

OK, so been digging around the forum trying to do some research on this phone.  Becoming more familiar.  I think I've narrowed the date down to 1957 or prior because the line and handset cords had red,black, white leads.  I read somewhere they changed these over to different colors sometime in 1957.  I also just found out that the ringer installed on my phone is a 66.6~ frequency ringer and it more than likely will not ring.  I really don't want to swap this out with another ringer.  This phone has survived so long without any updates/modifications and I'd hate to do change that.  Although, I'll have no choice but to replace the cords as they were too far gone...

I tend to agree about the ringers. Unless a phone with a frequency ringer really HAS to ring, I prefer to leave them as found. A frequency ringer in an AE set is very common and original. Especially when yours is coded on the base as having a frequency ringer (the C67 designation).
