Just bought this 6D dial off of ebay for $35 with free shipping, it was a buy it now, it looks to be in great shape, seller says it's the original paint on the sides. The question I have is, dose the 6D wire up the same as the 6A and what are the differences between them, is a 6D worth $35 thanks

Yes, the 6D is identical to the 6A, except for the clear fingerwheel and the white-finished case.
It was the successor (ca. 1-53 to 12-55) to the 5J dial for the colored 300-series desk and wall phones, and 202 continental/imperial sets.

There were three other color varieties of the 6D though with clear finger wheels:
6D-3 with black finish for 211/212MR-3 hangup sets in black
6D-61 for 212LRW-61 hangup-type telephone in light gray
6D-41 for 751A apparatus unit in dark gray
