Someone on the TCI listserver has posed the question of what the bleaching process would do to clear plastics.  Many collectors have clear plastic 500 and 2500 sets that have become UV damaged over the years.

I saw his question and I am wondering the same thing.  Anyone with knowledge?

I have never done a clear before. I would probably try a patch inside the handset where the cotton rests (the roach catcher,as one old phone collector told me they were once called), that way if it were to whiten it and not "clarify" it, it would be harder to tell because the cotton would mask the color change.
