Title: Name that Western Electric series!
Post by: bingster on October 12, 2008, 06:01:44 PM
I got to thinking about WE series today, and it occurs to me that there are series numbers that I don't know.  The ones I do know are:

100 - sidetone desk phone or hanging handset
200 - anti-sidetone desk phone or hanging handset
300 - first WE all-in-one desk phone
500 - second WE all-in-one desk phone
700 - Princess

But that list leaves two series (400 and 600) unaccounted for.  Anybody know what those two series denote?  And what series is the Trimline?

I believe that 400-series telephones were H1 handset mountings(otherwise know as a 302) which were set up for key telephone service.

I don't know about 600s.

Wasn't the 400 series the 300 style key sets?  I have two keysets, one with black line buttons and one with illuminated buttons and I think the numbers were something like 464.
