I just spotted this on Etsy.  I've seen push-button door entry systems like this, but never a rotary dial one before.  I believe this is from the sixties.

Pictures posted for your amusement.

Worth checking if the company mentioned on the box is still in business.

They are. There is even a patent number available for that lock: 4011742
According to the patent, it was filed in mid 70s.

That's actually quite an interesting piece, makes me wonder how it works when it comes to unlocking it and whether it acts like a telephone dial.... :D

Most of the punks these days wouldn't even know how to try dialing it. lol

They'd probably just kick the door in anyway...  :D

That would be good for locking up my shop!

Yes, I knew I had seen that dial center before! If they are still in production that may be a supplier for those centers! I restored one a while back that had a badly yellowed center and I could not find one anywhere. I was informed that they were impossible to find by members of both phone clubs. I ended up wet sanding it to improve the appearance but it was still not very nice looking. I would have been much happier with the phone if I could have replaced it.

Very cool 8); I'd just love to find one!

I'm guessing I'd need to add some station wire to said door, and an appropriate subscriber set, like a 685? No room in that lockset for all the components! :D

Best regards, and thanks for posting!
