Title: What is the Latest Date you have seen a 302?
Post by: Doug Rose on January 31, 2018, 12:35:22 PM
A Bell System 302 I had a 12 53 that is my Birthday and have never seen a later one. This is  a Northern and dated 6 56. The shell is stamped in a light blue blur vermilion  1 31 55, ringer 6 18 56 and the coil is dated 6 26 56. Transmitter is dated  1 26 56 and the receiver is dated 12 2 56. Back of dial is dated 5 51 and the Dial plate is dated 1 57. Line cord was cut and the handset cord looks like a later add.

This was covered with sticky grime, like it had been left out in a garage for years, that is why I waited so long on it. Cleaned up much better than expected and the base has a nice shine, no chips cracks or missing pieces. Has a like new like quality sheen to it.

It found its way to Boston as it has a really nice 617 dial card.

This baby just shines? What is the latest 302 you have seen??....Doug

You see lots of Northern sets up here from the mid to late 50's.

Interesting that the numbers are stamped in blue, only seen orange and yellow before. Were they still referbing 302s that late?  I know they had not shortage of NOS parts on hand to build "new" sets, hence the 5302s.
