Just found this in Point Pleasant WV. Pretty happy for 35 bucks. Needs a good cleaning!

Looks like a vented, metal, early 302. Well worth the purchase price. The bottom is in great shape.

However, we need more pictures, inside and out . . .

Looks like you got a nice 1937 302! Great find!!!

Does it have a seamless handset?

It does not have the seamless. I a!m going to put one on it though. It actually has a 1966 G1 handset. Probably someone thought the E1 did not belong and removed it.

How did a G1 handset fit???

You would be surprised how often the original seamless F1s were replaced. Of all 4 '37s I have, none had the original handset.

I thought these had an E1? The G1 did not fit at all. This was a factor in the price came down from 45 to 35.

Yikes, it looks like it has been converted to a 307 or something.  Probably in 1948 based upon the date on the ringer.  I think the ideal handset for a 37 302 is a seamless F1, but they are pricey!.

It is a conversion to a 306.   I am not sure that the 426 tube was available already in 1948. Usually, the 372A was used in factory original 306s, I think.

In 5-37 the most likely handset was still an E1E.   Quantity production of F1s starting probably in June or so, just afterwards.
